An introspective storyteller, UMC/Tuff Gong artist King Cruff explores the juxtapositions of human behaviour with energizing, innovative sounds that uplift and inspire for an ear-bending amalgam of Black musical styles. “I’m a big fan of songs that have one vibe but the lyrics tell a different story,” shares Cruff. Drawing on his own audio engineering background, he fuses genres across the diaspora including hip-hop, Afrobeats, dancehall and reggae into his original ‘punky’ sound. 

Cruff's label debut single "Samurai Chop" landed him early recognition from various Canadian and international media outlets and streaming partners including being named one of Pandora's Artists To Watch Caribbean 2023.

"Soufflé" is the second single and official music video to be released from King Cruff since signing with Universal Music Canada and Tuff Gong Collective – watch the official music video for “Soufflé” online.

Graham Scott Fleming talks about leaving his small town to be on Broadway and his rise in the country music scene

While beginning to craft his unique sound in the country genre, Graham found an incredible career in Broadway, landing the lead role of Charlie in “Kinky Boots,” and working directly with Cindy Lauper. He soon moved to NYC to fully emerge himself in his broadway career, which led to an international tour with “Hair” and performing at the Tony Awards. Growing up in Elmvale, ON, Graham would have no idea when he won a local singing contest in high school that music and performance would become such an internal part of his life.

Following his Broadway run, Graham returned home in 2020 and continued to pursue a solo career in the genre that raised him. After earning a Top 40 single at country radio as an independent artist with the release of “Better Man,” he signed a record deal with Open Road Recordings and RGK Entertainment in 2022. Having written with some of Canada’s most promising songwriters such as Robyn Ottolini, Lydia Sutherland, and Vanessa Marie Carter, and opening for Canadian country legacy acts such as High Valley, Deric Ruttan, and Aaron Pritchett, Graham’s music has received major play listing placements such as Apple Music's Country Risers, Canada’s Country, Trailblazers, and Country Wide, Amazon Music's Country Hits and Just North of Nashville, YouTube Music's Country Now and Canadian Country Moment and Spotify's Fresh Finds Country.

One of the most promising new voices in country, Graham Scott Fleming is only getting started. With more new music on the horizon and making his Boots & Hearts debut on August 12.

Starting her career at Molson Coors in 2014, Nasso has had involvement in major sporting and music events for the NHL, NFL, NBA, festivals such as Boots and Hearts, and concerts for consecutive summers at the Molson Amphitheatre. With an education and background in Business, Marketing, and Communications, Nasso enjoys applying theory to create strategic processes to operate events efficiently and effectively. In the past two years, Nasso has worked for companies such as Stingray Music while launching and running her swimwear line, Jane and Mac. Nasso is excited to take on the role of Executive Producer for the 22nd edition of the Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival and Maxim Grand Prix Party.

Matthew Dubois, better known by his stage name 12AM, is an emerging rhythmic pop singer based in Toronto. Armed with a never-ending pen, the talented singer-songwriter made waves in late 2021 with his genre-bending EP, After Midnight. The project featured notable tracks “Voices” boasting 7 million streams and “come over”, which premiered on Travis Mills’ Apple Music 1 radio show. Both tracks added to 12AM’s arsenal of 35 million global streams and counting. We chatted about his career, winning the cup, playing with superstars such as Ovechkin and Selanne and what he’s been up to since announcing his retirement last year.

Welcome back to Episode 217 of The Pal’s Podcast.

This week we had electronic music duo Young Bombs in the studio. Comprised of DJ/Producers Tristan Norton and Martin Kottmeier, Young Bombs began in 2014 primarily making remixes most notably for The Chainsmokers, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish and many more. They began their rise to fame in 2017 when they played major music festivals such as; Lollapalooza, Firefly Music Festival, Life is Beautiful, Ultra and many more. In 2020 they released their debut EP “The Young Bombs Show” and in 2021 they received a Juno Award nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year.

Recently in April of 2023, they released their new single “Bad” and the remix which is coming out April 21^st.

The Pal’s X Stacey Ryan

The self-proclaimed "queen of jazztok," Stacey Ryan is a singer, songwriter and arranger from Montreal who has established a fanbase posting covers and arrangements across her social platforms. Stacey had a breakout year in 2022 - which began by pioneering the “Open Verse Challenge” on TikTok and releasing single "Don't Text Me When You're Drunk"

Upon signing with Island Records she quickly followed "Don't Text Me..." with "Deep End" and "Fall in Love Alone,” which has now reached 100 Million streams globally and amassed over 5M combined creates on TikTok.

Released on January 13th, her latest single “Over Tonight” was produced by favored collaborators The Eleven, and features writing from Brett McLaughlin (Troye Sivan, Lauv, Sabrina Carpenter, Selena Gomez) and Asia Whiteacre (Bebe Rexha, Louis Tomlinson, Hailee Steinfeld, 5 Seconds of Summer). 

The single releases on the heels of Stacey's LA residency at The Sun Rose, where she played every Thursday through the month of January. Stacey also joined Jake Wesley Rogers on his North American tour kicking off February 24th. Later this spring, she’ll be joining Joshua Bassett on the road for his European tour.
